Take a tour with one of our naturalists to meet the Arboretum’s Ambassador Animals. From tree frogs to snakes, see what it takes to feed and care for the various animals that live in the Nature Center.

A Day in the Life of a Naturalist

July 6

Arboretum Naturalists are both scientists and teachers. They study the natural world and the interaction of species with their environment. See how exciting it is to be a Naturalist at the Arboretum as you try some of their favorite activities like sweep netting, pond dipping, bird watching, and exploring 155 acres of greenspace!

A Day in the Life of a Conservationist

August 3

Conservationists manage natural habitats and help preserve, restore, and protect the environment.  These green jobs are hard work, but they are a lot of fun and have the best office space – the great outdoors! Conduct research with entomology surveys and tree transects, and participate in the Arboretum’s efforts to combat invasive species.

Online registration is closed for A Day in the Life of a Conservationist, however, we still have a limited number of spaces available. Please call the front desk at 713-681-8433 to register.
