Botany for Beginners: Spring Wildflowers

April 3 2021 from 10:00 am 12:00 pm

In-person

$20 member / $35 nonmember (per person)
Instructor: Kelsey Low
Ages 12 and up

This class has SOLD OUT. More exciting classes to come! Next weekend is Beginner Birdwatching: Migration Madness and our next plants & gardening class is Gardening for Bees on April 24th.

There are about 5,000 species of flowering plants in Texas – that’s pretty intimidating for beginner botanists! If you’ve always wanted to identify flowers but don’t know where to start, this is the class for you. We’ll give you a simple introduction to botanical terms and an overview of our most common flower families, and then we’ll go on a long hike to see these plants in person and practice our ID skills.

Masks are required. This class will take place mostly outdoors, rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear walking shoes.

The Arboretum will be closing at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 19 for our Alfresco Gala.Click here to learn more about this important fundraising event.
