Why should kids have all the fun? Treat yourself to all the joys of summer camp, but for grown-ups! Unwind after a stressful day with hands-on nature activities, crafts, and outdoor exploration, PLUS a simple snack and a refreshing beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Company.
Class will be held rain or shine and will be primarily outdoors. Please dress for the weather.
Who’s eating who? Find out as we trace the threads of our Arboretum food web. We’ll learn how food webs make ecosystems function, create food chain mobiles, and go pond dipping to meet real wetland predators and prey.
Insects may be tiny, but they have a mighty impact! Meet some not-so-creepy crawlies as we explore insect anatomy under the microscope, build our own bugs to take home, and then sweep for real insects in the savanna.
Color your world with some hands-on chemistry! We’ll learn the reactions required to make fireflies glow, make lichen-inspired blacklight art, and check the health of the Arboretum’s wetland and woodland ecosystems using color-changing chemistry.
