In this hands-on class\, you’ll learn what we know about the biotic and abiotic factors that form our many soil types\, how they affect above ground life\, and what you can do to leave your garden’s soil better than you found it. Houston’s swamps are more mysterious and fascinating than you think! In this class we’ll learn some of the secrets of the swamp\, including the aquatic rabbit that once threatened a President\, why some trees have knees\, and the incredible engineering power of the humble mudbug.  \n\n\n\nDue to the recent drought-like conditions\, we are unable to host this class as planned. Come learn how to identify trees based on some not-so-obvious characteristics like twig morphology and get into the real nitty-gritty of tree ID.
