From the slow march of forest succession to the rapid impacts of squirrel “predation” on trees\, ecological processes shape our world. In this class we’ll focus on basic ecological concepts using examples at the Arboretum. Along the way\, we’ll discuss how the Arboretum’s unique ecology influences our own landscape management decisions. \n\n\n\nRegistration is closed. He uses ecological theories and concepts to maintain a healthy and functional forested ecosystem. He got his degree in Forest Recreation Management at Stephen F. Austin State University.

We’ll also talk about why invasive plants cause so many problems and some great alternatives for your home garden. \n\n\n\nMasks are required. In this class\, we’ll discuss how to evaluate your growing space and pick the right plants for your situation and gardening style. Whether you have acres of rangeland or a tiny patio deck\, we will show you how to find native plant species to suit your needs. We’ll also talk about where to source native plants. \n\n\n\nThe class will be recorded\, and the video will be sent out after the class. Registrants will receive a class link on their receipt and will need to use this link to pre-register for the class on Zoom.
