DESCRIPTION:Work on your bird watching skills while helping the Arboretum monitor bird populations on a fun\, relaxed morning walk. Join us on the second Saturday of each month in the courtyard behind the building for a two-hour bird survey led by Arboretum staff members\, Kelsey Low and Theo Ostler. We welcome all levels of bird watching skill and all ages (as long as you’re quiet) – but no dogs\, please! If you have binoculars of your own\, please bring them. We are looking to grow our team of Arboretum Docents and would like to invite you to learn more at this informational breakfast. Docents are volunteers who are specially trained to engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds in active explorations of our trails and Discovery Room. We are currently recruiting individuals for our upcoming docent trainings to prepare for fall programs! \n\n\n\n\nRSVP Online\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConcerned that you know very little about natural history\, native flora/fauna\, or the Arboretum in general? Not to worry! Docent training is comprehensive and includes extensive content-based classes as well as training on effective touring techniques. \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in helping us teach our visitors about nature and all it has to offer\, we encourage you to attend!
