Due to the recent cold front, the fall bird migrants have moved further south earlier than anticipated. In light of this, it has been decided to postpone the trip for 2017 with plans to visit in the Fall of 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you’ll join us for more Houston Arboretum Field Trips coming soon!

Love birds and birding? Check out our Winter Birding workshop!

Laffite’s Cove on Galveston Island is a treasure trove of birds during migration. Roseate Spoonbill, Crested Caracara, Black-and-white Warbler, and Indigo Bunting are all possibilities. While you observe the amazing waders, seabirds, and fall migrants, your guide will also talk about migration and what you can do to help fall migrants.

We will meet at the Arboretum and travel to the site in a van. Bring water, snacks, and a lunch, and dress appropriately for the weather. Binoculars will be available to borrow.
