Nature knows how to protect itself from potential dangers. Join us as we learn what happens when nature attacks back! Learn how to identify venomous snakes and poisonous plants here at the Arboretum\, make a coral snake keychain\, and practice your aim spraying would-be predators.   \n\n\n\n\nRegister Online\n\n\n\n\nPlease come dressed for the outdoors\, including closed-toe shoes. This is a drop-off class. Parents and siblings are welcome to explore the Arboretum’s grounds on their own.

SUMMARY:The Secret Life of Squirrels
DESCRIPTION:$20 member / $35 nonmember (per person) Instructor: Kelsey Low Ages 12 and up \n\n\n\nSquirrels are so common that we take them for granted\, but they really live fascinating lives. For example\, did you know that Eastern Gray Squirrels are one of the few animal species known to lie to deceive others\, tree squirrels have built-in sunglasses\, and flying squirrels are vicious predators? These ubiquitous and adaptable creatures aren’t just backyard nuisances – they play essential roles in our ecosystem. We will focus our three Houston species: Eastern Gray\, Fox\, and Southern Flying.  \n\n\n\n\nRegister Online\n\n\n\n\nClass will be held rain or shine – dress for the weather and wear walking shoes. Weather permitting\, we will be walking about 0.25 miles on mulch and boardwalk.
