Nature Revealed

Many of us only know armadillos as roadkill or kitschy Texas souvenirs, but they’re truly fascinating animals. They seem prehistoric, but they’re relatively recent arrivals here in North America. They’re rarely encountered, yet they’re extremely common and surprisingly urban. In this class we’ll explore the strange anatomy, odd behavior, and rich history of our armadillo neighbors. As armadillos are nocturnal, we won’t be seeing any during the class, but we will examine plenty of real armadillo specimens.
