Group Volunteer Opportunities

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Consider the Arboretum for your next team-building exercise or group service project! Volunteers from corporations, universities, high schools, congregations, and many other community/professional organizations contribute thousands of hours of service each year to enhance the ecological health of our sanctuary trails and grounds. These conservation projects are physically demanding but highly popular and rewarding and will vary due to the Arboretum’s needs.

Important Group Volunteer Information:

  • All youth group volunteers must be at least 16 years old and limited to a group size of 15 youth with 2 adult chaperones for every 10 volunteers; Adult [18 years and older] volunteer group projects are limited to a group size of 30 or fewer.
  • All volunteer groups must schedule in advance. Please note that all projects are outdoors and are rain-or-shine events [we do monitor the weather carefully].
  • Most projects are scheduled in the mornings, 9 am to noon. We can accommodate groups on weekdays or Saturday mornings.
  • Any required equipment and/or tools are provided and each project is staff supervised with on-the-job training.

For the safety of our visitors, the Nature Center building will be closed to the public for the next few days as we begin the first phase of renovations. Please note - restrooms and water may not be available during this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
