Summer Camp 2019

Stayin’ Alive
Dates: June 3 – 7
A snake with a snorkel, a blood-squirting lizard, an acting bird, and a roly-poly mammal – vertebrates have the most amazing adaptations! Learn about these features and many more that help animals survive in their environment. See first-hand some of the incredible structures that mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and fish use to stay alive.

Arboretum Underground
Dates: June 10 – 14
Tunnel through the soil and rocks to the amazing world hidden under our feet. Prepare to learn about fungi, insects, and anything that burrows, sleeps, or lives underground. See things from the perspective of ants and learn how nature recycles everything. Plan on getting your hands dirty as we explore the Arboretum Underground.

Wetlands, Wet & Wild
Dates: June 17 – 21
This action-packed, exciting nature camp will explore the wild world of wetlands with hands-on learning, fun games, and creative crafts. Fishing and pond-dipping will get you wet and muddy while discovering the aquatic features and creatures that keep these important habitats healthy.

Bugology
Dates: June 24 – 28
Are you ready for a week of creepy crawly fun? Campers will go sweep netting to collect insects, learn how to identify them, and perform insect experiments. We will go on insect safaris to search for bugs high and low, and even make our own bug art. Campers will also study the value and benefits insects provide to humans and society.
