Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a resource for educators of all backgrounds. On field trips, students and teachers increase their understanding of natural systems, learn about relationships between humans and the environment, and have a great time being scientists for the day. Our many different professional development opportunities are designed to develop teacher confidence and increase your knowledge base when teaching science and environmental subjects.

The Arboretum’s Acorn Academy partners with Title I schools to engage Houstonians least likely to have access to or awareness of natural spaces. Acorn Academy schools receive two field trips per year, per grade level K-5.
