Arboretum Volunteers contribute their time, passion, and knowledge to assist the Arboretum’s Staff as we strive towards our mission of conservation and nature education. Opportunities are designed to get Volunteers involved in engaging programs and activities while providing a space for individual interest, growth, and education.

There are indoor, outdoor, active, and supportive opportunities available both weekdays and weekends at the Arboretum.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is an approved Texas Master Naturalist Volunteer Service & Advanced Training site.

In order to join our team, prospective Volunteers must fill out the online application, attend a New Volunteer Orientation, give consent for a Criminal Background Check, and pay a $25 one-time processing fee. Start by filling out the application below. Once received, you will receive an email that contains information with the next steps of your volunteer journey.

The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization which depends on donations to support nature education and conservation programs for Houstonians of all ages.
