For children 18 months – 4 years
Encourage your child’s curiosity about nature and spend time with them exploring outdoors! Children 18 months to 4 years, with an adult companion, can join a Naturalist for a story reading, a simple nature or sensory development activity, and a stroller-friendly hike on the beautiful Arboretum trails. Enjoy an interesting new nature experience each week with themes such as flowers, shapes, and butterflies!
Select Mondays at 9:30 am and 10:30 am
Cost per class:
Free for Family Tree Members and above (please have member card on hand)
$7 per child for nonmembers, pay at the door.
No preregistration is necessary; however, attendance is limited to 20 children per session. Sign-up will take place in front of the Beautyberry Classroom. Doors will close 15 minutes after the class begins or once the session is full. Siblings who are not within the age range may attend but may not participate.
We meet rain or shine! Please dress for the weather including hat, sunscreen, jackets, raincoat, or rain boots, as needed. Closed-toe shoes are best for the hikes.

Tyke Hikes en español!
¡Fomenta la curiosidad de tu hijo por la naturaleza y pasa tiempo con él explorando al aire libre! Los niños con un compañero adulto pueden unirse a un naturalista para leer un cuento, realizar una actividad sencilla de desarrollo sensorial o de la naturaleza y realizar una caminata para cochecitos por los hermosos senderos del Arboretum. Llegue vestido con zapatos cerrados y ropa cómoda para jugar. Esté preparado para el clima, incluyendo sombrero, protector solar, chaquetas, impermeable o botas de lluvia, según sea necesario. Disfrute de una nueva e interesante experiencia natural cada semana con temas como estanques, serpientes, sentidos y viento.
