And just like that, it's the last week of the 2026 And just like that, it's the last week of the 2026 #ArboretumWalkingChallenge. We are closed until noon today due to the freeze, but once we reopen, we'll be hiding not one but two golden envelopes along the trails. This week's route, the Woodland Habitat Hike, is made up of mulch, boardwalk, and gravel. At 1.7 miles, it is the longest of our four Walking Challenge routes.

One Individual Membership will be hidden along the route for walkers to find each day through the end of the Challenge on Saturday, January 31. No registration necessary, just follow the three easy steps below! Anyone can participate, but you must be 18+ to redeem a Membership.

1️⃣ FOLLOW the week's route.
2️⃣ FIND the golden envelope with the discount code - a new code will be hidden along the route at a different time each day!
3️⃣ REDEEM your prize – if you find one of the codes, visit the Arboretum website and use the discount code for a free Individual Membership or a $45 credit toward a higher Membership level.

A small group of Ring-necked Ducks has been bobbin A small group of Ring-necked Ducks has been bobbing up and down in the North Woodway Pond this week. These charming ducks prefer shallow water where they can easily dive down to nibble on aquatic plants and invertebrates. Ring-necked Ducks spend the winter in the southern half of the US after nesting in Canada in the summer. Males are crisp black and white while females are a softer brown. #BeakOfTheWeek #WildlifeWednesday
