Exploring Habitats: Water Monitoring

September 18 2021 from 10:00 am 12:00 pm

$20 member / $30 nonmember (per family, up to 4 people; $5 per additional family member)
Instructor: Patti Bonnin
All Ages

Family Tree and above member level required for a discounted rate.

Join us as we explore the Arboretum’s ponds and perform a habitat assessment. Water monitoring provides essential information about the health and quality of our aquatic habitats. Learn the basics of water monitoring, including testing dissolved oxygen and pH levels, and completing biological surveys. Go pond dipping to see what aquatic animals can be found lurking beneath the water’s surface.

Class will be held rain or shine and will be primarily outdoors. Prepare for walking; we recommend leaving strollers at home unless designed for trails.

The Arboretum is currently CLOSED due to the continuing power outage caused by Hurricane Beryl. All classes and events on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16 have been cancelled or postponed. Please check back for updates.
