Exploring Habitats: Water Monitoring

Join us as we explore the Arboretum’s ponds and perform a habitat assessment. Water monitoring provides essential information about the health and quality of our aquatic habitats. Learn the basics of water monitoring, including testing dissolved oxygen and pH levels, and completing biological surveys. Go pond dipping to see what aquatic animals can be found lurking beneath the water’s surface. 

Class will be held rain or shine and will be primarily outdoors. Prepare for walking; we recommend leaving strollers at home unless designed for trails.

The Woodway Entrance will be closed to the public March 28-31 for the Texas Children's Houston Open. Please use the 610 Entrance during this time.The Nature Center building will be closed Sunday, March 31 for Easter. The trails, outdoor restrooms, and Nature Playscape will remain open.
