Starry Night

December 10 from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

$35 member / $50 nonmember / $20 child (ages 5-12) (per person)
Ages 5 and up

Due to the risk of cloudy skies and the chance of rain this Saturday night, our original stargazing plans will metamorphose into meeting the real “stars” behind the constellations! Learn from Arboretum naturalists and guest presenters from the Wildlife Center of Texas about some of the wild animals that inspired ancient astronomers. Get photos with Aquila the Hawk, Noctua the Owl, Serpens the Snake, and Chameleon the Lizard – all real wildlife ambassadors. You’ll learn fun facts about each animal and the myths that made them part of our night sky. We’ll also be making fun star-themed crafts, enjoying delicious snacks and beverages, and – weather permitting – go on a guided nighttime nature hike.

Enjoy a family night that’s out of this world! We’ll provide tasty treats, coffee, and hot chocolate to keep you warm as you explore the night sky with star-themed crafts, constellation lore, and (weather permitting) some stargazing as you hike through our wintry woods to the Meadow.

Please dress for the weather and wear close-toed shoes.
