There are a lot of myths and misinformation about our reptilian friends. Get the real story on lizards, snakes, and turtles as you meet one of our ambassador reptiles, make your own beaded snake to take home, and go on a hike to search for reptiles on the trails.

Thursday, July 18*

Frogs, salamanders, and sirens – oh my! Learn about our slimy friends and their incredible life cycles as you meet one of our ambassador amphibians, make your own frog mask, and go on a hike to look for amphibians in our wetlands.

This class has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 18 due to the impacts of Hurricane Beryl. Please email [email protected] for questions about registration.

Thursday, August 1

Insects aren’t just “creepy-crawlies” – they’re incredibly diverse, beautiful, and vital for the survival of our ecosystems. Learn about these amazing critters as you make a cruelty-free “insect collection” and go on a sweep-net hike to examine real insects up close.

The Arboretum is currently CLOSED due to the continuing power outage caused by Hurricane Beryl. All classes and events on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16 have been cancelled or postponed. Please check back for updates.
