This week we’d never have found the Acadian Flycat This week we’d never have found the Acadian Flycatcher without hearing its distinctive “ker-CHIP!” song on the Outer Loop. Acadian Flycatchers blend in beautifully with the leafy shadows of their woodland homes, and they are very difficult to tell apart from their cousins the Alder and Willow Flycatchers. However, their song gives them away! This bird is currently migrating south to Venezuela, Colombia, or Ecuador where it will spend the winter. If you’re interested in getting started with birding and want to learn how to find and identify birds like Acadian Flycatchers, join us on September 5 for Beginner Birding from 9:30-11:30 am. #BeakOfTheWeek #WildlifeWednesday
