Today is the day! Gates open at 10 am for ArBOOret

Today is the day! Gates open at 10 am for ArBOOretum, our annual fall family festival! Enjoy Train Rides, Pumpkin Decorating, a Halloween Market, Birds of Prey, Houston's only Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail, and so much more!

Arboretum Members attend for free, and tickets are available for purchase online or at the entrance.

Please keep the following reminders in mind if you are joining us for ArBOOretum:
🎃 Already a Member? Make sure to have your digital or physical Membership Card handy!
🎃 There will be NO onsite parking - visit the event website for details about our free offsite parking garage and shuttle.
🎃 Rideshare pick up and drop off, as well as limited ADA accessible parking, will be available at the Woodway Entrance.
🎃 No pets, please.
🎃 Dress for the day - comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and costumes are encouraged!
🎃 Bring your reusable water bottle to refill at the water station.
🎃 Last entry to the event is at 3:00 pm, and the Trick-or-Treat Trail last entry is 3:30 pm

Please note that there is no onsite parking available on Saturday, however there is free offsite parking and a stroller and wagon-friendly shuttle running throughout the day to transport guests to and from the event.

Restoring habitat WORKS! We’ve seen four gorgeou

Restoring habitat WORKS! We’ve seen four gorgeous Scissor-tailed Flycatchers this month thanks entirely to habitat restoration. These spectacular birds need wide open areas full of native grasses where they can hunt for insects, and thanks to the hard work of the Arboretum and neighboring Memorial Park, flycatchers can find plenty of restored savanna and prairie to roam. Keep an eye out for them flying over the Savanna and Meadow before November (when they migrate south to Central America). #BeakOfTheWeek #WildlifeWednesday

ArBOOretum wouldn't be the amazing event it is without Volunteers! We are looking for Volunteers (ages 16+) to join us for this Saturday's ArBOOretum Fall Festival! Volunteers work with Arboretum staff to make sure the event is well-organized, fun, and safe for all. Help with activities like Pumpkin Decorating, Pumpkin Patch, Halloween Market, and so much more.

Come represent the Houston Arboretum as we host nature-loving families for another great year of spooky fun. All Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, food, and free attendance before their shift.
