Young birds like this Red-tailed Hawk may be adult-sized, but they’re still learning how to hunt and navigate life on their own. Their cluelessness, clumsiness, and curiosity means they are more likely to interact with humans. Please give them plenty of space and admire them from a distance! Even if you see one awkwardly on the ground, there’s a good chance it’s just recovering from a poorly-timed pounce.
