Have you spotted the Neotropic Cormorant at the Wo Have you spotted the Neotropic Cormorant at the Woodway ponds? This slender, diving bird likes to hide among the Ring-necked Ducks as it hunts for small fish and crawfish underwater. However, unlike the ducks, it lacks waterproof feathers and so must periodically climb out of the water to dry its wings. Look for it when it perches on the big tree branch to spread its wings and bask in the sun. #BeakOfTheWeek #WildlifeWednesday

We may not be happy for 80-degree temperatures in We may not be happy for 80-degree temperatures in the middle of February, but bees sure are! This beautiful Mexican plum tree (Prunus mexicana) has started an early bloom and is covered in bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The fresh white blossoms emit a sweet fragrance, often described as a honey or grape Kool-Aid scent. This particular tree greets you at the entrance of the Display Walk at the Woodway Parking Loop.
