Themes

A Habitat is a Home (Grades K-2)

Learn how and where living things meet their needs. We’ll examine each element of a habitat and see how we create a healthy home for our animal ambassadors.

Nature’s Recyclers (Grades 1-3)

Investigate how nature recycles nutrients through the process of decomposition. Children will meet some of the organisms that work on the decomposer team.

Pleased to Eat You! (Grades 3-5)

Follow the energy of the sun on a pathway through producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and decomposers in a food chain. Students will get to observe one of our animal ambassadors being fed and discuss their role in the food web.

Creature Features (Grades 3-5)

Discover adaptations that help organisms survive. While meeting our animal ambassadors, students will identify and compare adaptive characteristics of organisms.

EcoExplorers (Grades 4-5)

Identify ways that organisms live and survive in their ecosystem by interacting with the living and non-living elements. Students will compare woodland, savanna, prairie, and wetland habitats and how they support biological communities. Great STAAR review!
