Ecology is the relationship between living things – including humans – and their physical environment. From the slow march of forest succession to the rapid impacts of squirrel “predation” on trees, ecological processes shape our world. In this class we’ll focus on basic ecological concepts using examples at the Arboretum. Along the way, we’ll discuss how the Arboretum’s unique ecology influences our own landscape management decisions.
